Background
	Nickel allergy is one of the best known allergies. Persons who are allergic to nickel should avoid the contact with nickel products. Just one touch with nickel may lead to itching, blisters and rash. Worldwide, a fifth of the population reacts hyper-sensitive to nickel. Girls and women are primarily affected. Nickel is a metal which is used for jewelry, watches, zippers, glasses, cosmetics as well as cutlery and cans. Test procedure
Clean the surface so that it is fat-free. Use a spoon or a syringe to apply some drops of vinegar on the surface. For chains and bracelets use a little bowl filled with vinegar to dip in for a few seconds. Absorb the drops with the nickel test paper and wait for 60 seconds. If necessary, move the jewelry forth and back on the test paper to apply the nickel ions on the surface. A red discoloration of the test paper indicates the presence of nickel on the surface.
